Welcome to the Nonbinary Culture
Don't worry what's actually going on...Just live the way you want and it'll be okay
There has not been one single thing in the past twenty years that has more profoundly changed the culture in our world than the willingness of people in society to treat their firm convictions as a box of Kleenex. You know, be rock solid on the things you say you believe, the gender you were born as, or any other issue in life, and then from one hour to the next discard your beliefs like you’re throwing away used Kleenex just to take a new one to redefine your position again. And maybe I could “go along to get along” if it didn’t collide with my life in some way. But it has overcome rationality by being pushed into every dark corner of every room of every house across America including mine so now I must pay attention.
As an analogy, we just ended the Resurrection weekend preceded by the Seder celebration. Part of the Seder tradition has all the leaven removed from all parts of the house, symbolized in our church as pieces of leavened bread hidden under the table left for the kids to sweep up and throw away. I am not confident there are enough kids in the world to get the politically motivated leaven removed from our society today. But that’s okay because the minute an area is identified as harmful and addressed, politicians shift the focus, redefine reality by renaming the issue, and flip the narrative to blame those people looking to make change. Snake oil salesmen have a better act as at least they pretend their “cure” actually works.
Case in point, how do you redefine the narrative when a transgender, mentally ill person unleashes unprovoked death against children and adults leading to their demise by the heroic efforts of the police? Easy. Just put out that the transgender community has experienced such transphobic persecution that the poor person had no choice and had to fight back. With assault rifles against unarmed children and adults SPECIFICALLY targeting a Christian school.
Think I’m speaking in hyperbole? Here is what the White House Press Secretary released in a statement, “White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre contributed, saying that the administration’s “hearts go out to the trans community, as they are under attack right now.” Not to be upstaged by his own mouthpiece, President Biden doubled down on the misdirection and vilification of heroes involved in a religious hate crime attack by saying in a proclamation, “that transgender people shape our nation’s soul.” Then said that March 31st would be “transgender day of visibility.””
I don’t know about you, but this picture is worth a thousand words and doesn’t need a separate day given to show visibility. The machine gun pointed at the school and the children pretty much painted the picture as visibly as I needed to see.
Through the Looking Glass
To be clear, I am not commenting for or against a gender orientation in this article. I am, however, trying to upstage the rhetoric we are hearing on this by relying upon a courageous policing leadership principle: Never let feelings redefine facts. So, let’s talk about the fact that a combination of officers, detectives, and a sergeant all collaborated per their ongoing active shooter training to move past victims bleeding out asking for help to neutralize the shooter as a threat. Few of these professionals had worked together before and spanned a wide range of tenure and experience and did their job nobly. Or the confirmed fact that this shooting had specifically targeted a Christian school even if the motive will never be known.
The media has had no choice but to give proper credit to their heroic actions for stopping was surely going to be further loss of life. As former Lieutenant (ret.) Brian Murphy recounted after stopped the active shooter at the Wisconsin Sikh Temple in 2010, “Once you know one person is down, you know there will be more…you know there will…and it’s up to you to stop it.” But it didn’t take long to draw people’s attention away from the groundswell of pride for law enforcement to absurdly having a national holiday inspired by a murderer of children.
Follow me deeper down the rabbit hole. On March 14th President Biden signed an executive order to stem the acquisition of firearms. There have been 110 mass shootings that have occurred in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive. The U.S. surpassed 100 mass shootings so far this year earlier in March, which is the earliest point in at least a decade that the number of annual mass shootings has hit triple digits. But since 2020 at least 33 school districts have gotten rid of their school resource officers citing their presence invites the tension between the police and the community.
And Chicago - you know, the place where the highest level of homicides, violent crime, and unsolved cases exist - is getting rid of officers in favor of mental health workers to respond to 911 calls for service. I’m betting discovering why your dad didn’t hug you enough when you were five won’t be the impetus to stop another crazed person from terrorizing and killing kids and teachers in schools within Chicago when the next active shooter pops in. And I’m sure the victims want their cops carrying rifles to match the rifle slinging coward(s) at their doorstep as well.
Run twice as fast, Alice. That’s the only way you can get ahead.
Who Are We Now?
I took this picture earlier this week as I was enjoying the morning. Right up until I realized I was flying the only American flag on the entire block. Behind me looked no different. Americans have forgotten or willfully traded their patriotism of America for the Ponzi scheme of self-importance being laid at their feet. You know what…styles change over time, but when you not only change the sheets of music mid-song, but also tell me how to dance then expect the inevitable pushback you have coming.
A recent Gallup poll highlighted that 91% of people surveyed believed the place they could go to find the security of truth in their lives was…themselves. Not the untrustworthy cowardly politicians. Not “higher education”. And not even the champion of misinformation himself, Mr. Fauci. And it’s okay for the “you do you” attitude, until it conflicts with “me doing me” my way. Subjective truth is a smokescreen and not real. Consider that. I could be sued civilly for flying a Thin Blue Line flag next to my American flag because someone driving by my house on the street redefined their identity of what was okay for them. After 24 years serving my country in law enforcement proudly each day, I would fly both if I had two flag anchors, by the way.
The nonbinary culture demands a dismantling of intellect for an infusion of “Zee-Zie-Zou-Zum” pronouns instructed to me by a purple dinosaur in the name of love, tolerance, and the “New America.”
Sorry, listening to that “I love zou, zou love zhee” rhetoric is over.
Who we are moving forward is best seen in the way we interact with people relationally. In a world getting less anchored to stability than ever before, I challenge you to forge a different path. One where service to others above yourself is prized. One where the intellectual competency of another person is celebrated and not shouted down in silence. One where the foundation of our great nation on the bedrock of historically authentic biblically Christianity is at the very least acknowledged if not returned to from the preservation of a legacy to our children’s children’s children (see: the Constitution, the majority of correspondence from our founding fathers.)
Don’t sit idly by waiting for the redefinition to find you asleep at home. Choose to stand your ground, challenge the lies, and trust the truth!

Great article. Inspiring and courageous!
Every day I wake up and wonder, will there ever be an America where truth is truth? Thank you Sergeant. Maybe if enough voices can be heard a sense of normalcy may return.
